Review: Indulging in Sweet Treats This Winter With The Help Of Bloom Cupcakes!

S.A.D. is hitting me hard this winter, I always try to take extra care of my mental health during the winter months because I notice a difference in my mood when the days get shorter and colder. What better way to start making myself feel better than to treat myself to some delicious cupcakes?!

Bloom Cupcakes is cute award winning boutique shop situated in Birkenhead and is home to many delicious cupcakes and cakes ready for all occasions. My nan has been making me ‘Nanny Cakes’ for over 18 years so I would say that I’ve gain some pretty good knowledge on cakes, I sure know a good cupcake when I see one!

Bloom Cupcakes takes unique flavours that you wouldn’t normally find in cupcakes to create a range of cupcakes suited for any event. I thought I would go for an assorted cupcake box of 6 different flavours because there were too many interesting and delicious cupcakes to choose from! A box of 6 cupcakes costs $30.

They have their standard flavors and then depending on what month of the year it is, the have special cupcake flavours for each month. They also have Saturyay! which is when there creative cupcakes really come out to play; including hamburger and Lemon Meringue designed ones! There are even different Gluten-Free, Egg-Free and Nut-Free cupcake options. So no matter what you prefer, you will most likely be able to find a cupcake to eat!

Apple Pie has always been one of my favourite desserts, specially in Winter because i’d normally have it fresh out of the oven with a dollop of fresh cream on top, perfect for a cold winters night! So when I found that Bloom cupcakes had an apple pie flavoured cupcake I knew I had to get a couple because I would love them and trust me, they did not disappoint!

I also had a couple of peanut flavoured cupcakes, I can’t say I’ve ever been a huge fan of peanut butter or anything that is heavily peanut-flavoured, but when I tried these I was pleasantly surprised because the flavouring wasn’t too overpowering, it has been the first peanut flavoured food that I’ve actually enjoyed!

Now, I may not be a cupcake expert, but after my 18 years of Nanny cake experience, which I can say that they would easily give her a run for her money, sorry Nan!  These cupcakes were delicious! Their texture was perfect and the sweetness of the icing was just right.

I can’t wait until I have another excuse to go and grab another 6 cupcakes! Why don’t you put your order in too, they currently have a 10% offer off your first order when you sign up to their e-newsletter!
