5 Things To Do When When Blogging Becomes A Chore

You are probably wondering why I took a bit of break from the blog last month, truth is, whenever I sat down to write a blog post, I would find it very draining and I wouldn’t enjoy any part of it.. I started this blog as a hobby as soon as I start to dislike it or I don’t find blogging fun anymore, I don’t see the point in creating content that I’m not passionate about so I tend to take a break until I find that motivation again!

This happens to the best of us, If this happens to you, don’t feel alone & read this post.

Take A Break

Taking a break from the blog is probably the first thing I do, wether it’s one day, one week or one month. As much as I love writing my blog and updating my Instagram on a day to day basis, it can all seem a little overwhelming, touching on my last post as well, I find the pressures of blogging and social media can get too much sometimes, so I take myself away from everything online to focus on ‘real life’ Taking a short break from social media can be very refreshing!

Work On Behind The Scenes

If you were a regular reader of my old blog, you would of noticed that I re-vamped the theme of my blog when I took some time off over Christmas. When you feel like blogging has become a chore for you, try to upgrade the behind the seasons of your blog, for example improve your blogs theme, update your media kit, use Pinterest for ideas and inspiration. There are lots of different ways for you to improve your blog whilst your motivation is slightly lacking.

Experience New Things

Whenever blogging for me gets to be a chore, I try to live a life that is worth creating content for. It’s very easy for you to feel down about your lack of motivation for your blog, but why waste your energy feeling bad when you can use that energy to create a life that you want to share! Travel more, take on adventures and make some lasting memories!

Connect With Your Audience

I always find motivation connecting with the people who enjoy reading my content, whether it’s reading/replying to old comments or supporting other bloggers on social media and with their blogs. For me, it reminds me why I am blogging and helps me find a purpose to why I’m doing this.

Find A Purpose

Reminding myself of the reason why I started this blog and why I fell in love with blogging really helps me to find the motivation to continue to blog, everyone has different reasons why they love blogging and you need to find the reason why you started, although, fame, money and freebies are not the right reasons.

What a lovely blog post! I sadly get this issue a lot and sometimes take several months off. I think the hardest part for me is finding other creative people to be surrounded by. I actually just did a blog post about 5 ways to be productive which helped me a lot in getting back into blogging. Hope you will stop by to read it 🙂
