Over the past few months I feel like life has really just run away from me. Can you believe it’s already April?! It’s so easy to get so caught up in something that you don’t realise what’s happening around you.. I’m guilty of this, and I’m sure if you a reading this, that you might be guilty of this too! With life being so fast past at the moment, things can easily get a little crazy, so I thought I would share with you a couple of my favourite tips to staying organised!
Write down your 3 most important tasks to do each day- You will probably find that once you have written your top 3 tasks for the day and you complete them, everything else will just follow. If you write down a massive to do list everyday, this will seem very overwhelming and you will find it a mission to even start.
Find an easy effective work list for you- I’ve gone through endless apps on my phone to find an app that will help me to input several task lists, as well as a calendar which is easy to use, but if I’m honest nothing works better for me than putting pen to paper. Find an planner or diary which allows you to make lists as well as enter important dates into a calendar is key for me as I can easily spend more time trying to make a to do list than spending time doing the tasks.
Do one thing at a time- I know for some people this really doesn’t work at all, I mean Brian spends most of his life doing 8 things at once (I still don’t understand how he does this) but I am the sort of person that has to start one task and finish it before starting a new one. I always try to start with the easier tasks first so I get in the ‘swing of working’
Stick to a plan- Having something in front of you that is structured is so easy to follow will make your life 100% easier. Every Sunday night Brian and I use our Kikki K meal planner to decide what we want to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner through out the week and then we do the weekly shop based on that. Obviously is isn’t something that we are obliged to stick too, but knowing what’s for dinner after a long day at work and knowing you already have all of the ingredients makes such a difference!
Spring clean all year round- I really struggle to concentrate if the environment around me is really messy, I’ve actually been known to get out of bed at 2am to clean my room because I couldn’t sleep properly with the mess.. I’ll admit that’s abit extreme, but even at work I need my desk to be organised, organised chaos is ok, but I try to stay clean and keep as organised as possible!
These are just a few things that are helping me to stay organised this year- if you’ve got any tips send them over here!
