Almost every person who reads this blog will know someone who has been affected by cancer, 8 women a day get diagnosed with breast cancer and over 600 women unfortunately loose their battle each year. These statistics are shocking. Over the next month thousands of people in New Zealand are coming together to raise money for breast cancer foundation so I thought I would share a way that you can also raise money for the breast cancer foundation.
One of my favourite candle companies, Oohlala, has got involved and created 2 gorgeous limited edition candles ready for Mothers Day and is donating $5 to Breast Cancer foundation for every candle sold.
The packaging to these candles is amazing, I love the pick shade and the pattern of the candle holder. I can’t remember the last time I brought a candle with a lid to keep in the fragrance, I thought this was such a good idea because both of the candles are sweet so could potentially become sickly if the smell ligers all day, so I wouldn’t want the smell to be in my room all of the time, so I can just put the lid on once I’ve finished using it and the sweet smell won’t liger around for ages.
However the smell is a m a z i n g! I went for the pink sugar&lace which has a subtle hint of vanilla and has a strong smell of pink marshmallows which is normally a scent I would stay well away from because strong sweet smells can become really overpowering and I’ve never been a fan of that, but I keep lifting the lid off the candle and smelling it whenever I walk past it and I fall more in love with the smell every time.
The candle arrived already wrapped up in this gift box making it a perfect gift for Mother’s Day. I’m not too sure how long the limited edition candles are on sale for, because I thought they would make brilliant birthday presents too, but Oohlala have an amazing range of other candles as well so I will be buying a few candles that have the perfect fragrances for this time of year!
I always get really sad whenever I get to the bottom of a candle because you can’t always find the exact same fragrance and I know I will have the same feeling when I eventually burn this candle out, although this candle does have a burning time of 40-50 hours..which is a lot, although, because I love the packaging, once the candle has been fully burned out, I’ll probably use it to put my makeup brushes in!
I’ve placed the candle on my bedside table and I think the hint of pink makes it look so nice! If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that I’ve struggled to make my old house feel like a home, so I’ve made a massive effort to make our new house really feel like home, however living as a couple, you have to keep most things very neutral, so I really like how I can add a girly touch to the room without being too over the top and Brian is a huge candle lover, so really didn’t mind me putting a pink candle in the bedroom!
