Winter Skin Care Routine

I don’t think anything is more strange then being in April and the weather getting colder not warmer, I know it’s only Autumn in New Zealand, but I’ve already started to notice a different with my skin since the weather has got colder and windy. Winter is probably the only season where I really take care of my skin and focus on hydration because it dries out so easily.

Morning Routine

I love skincare products, but I’m not one to spend half an hour applying different creams and treatments in the morning before I start my day so I keep my routine very simple. I wash my face with warm water and Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. To finish I will apply some moisturiser, either the Liz Earle moisturiser, or the Origins Ultra-hydrating Energy boosting cream depending on how my skin is feeling and looking.

Evening Routine

A lot of the products I use in the morning are re-used at night, I start by taking my makeup using the trusty Garnier micellar water  and a cotton wool pad to remove as much makeup as I can, before I use the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish to remove the rest. During the evenings I like to use a face mask or an exfoliating scrub, I’ve been loving the Mask Of Magnaminty  face mask from Lush, this month I’ve had a few hormonal red blemishes, which is really rare for me, but this mask seems to do the trick by reducing the redness. I’ll finish my routine off with a moisturiser again.

What are your winter must haves? I’m really looking to update my winter skincare collection this year!

I wasn’t aware you were in NZ for a second – I’m in the UK and we’re currently having a heatwave so the title of this post really confused me haha! I WISH we were in Autumn / Winter, I hate the heat! But I do love a bit of Liz Earle. You cannot go wrong with their products.

I always have a moisturiser to hand for the winter, as my skin always dries out. Love the Liz Earle cleanser though, I use it everyday 👍🏻
